windows windows

May 6th, 2010

alright, i am not talking about microsoft you geeks. I am actually talking about real windows. Recently, my parents realized that their energy bills have been pretty high throughout the winter period and now summer is approaching, the bills are rising again. through some investigation, it seems that the only way to decrease the energy bill is to get better insulation. We hired some contractors to come by and check out the place and they recommended several energy efficient windows for us to consider. we have never knew that windows can come in so many different types. some of them are extremely expensive and some of them are fairly cheap.

it took a while to make a decision on the windows, there were many great choices out there such as Penguin Windows, pella windows, and other energy-star qualified windows. We are still in the decision making process, however, one thing we did learn is by switching to energy efficient windows, we get $1500 tax deduction benefit. isn’t that something.

so tired

May 2nd, 2010

well, didn’t get to sleep till 4am last night, of course someone was drunk, and someone was partying too much. I, being a good friend, stayed till everyone had their share of fun and exhaustion. by the time i was in bed, it was close to 4 and i know i have to wake up around 8 today to run errands and buy necessities. It was one of the most painful sundays in my memory.

I have not partied like this since the college days, which is a longggggggg time ago. Although it was fun doing it, but it is no longer like how it was back when i was 20 years old. Pulling all-nighters and getting drunk every other day seemed like a walk in the park back then. Age does take a toll on your body. very very depressing. :(

on the other hand, i got everything i have to do today. btw, i checked out the new ipad, it is nice!!!! hehe. i loved it.

party party

May 1st, 2010

one of my very very good friend’s birthday today. i am getting excited just thinking about what we are going to do.

delicious dinner, some good dessert, clubbing afterwards, everybody gets happily buzzed.

oh, since we are on this topic, something happened couple days ago that’s alarming for all you drink and driving people. my friend had a company outing and drank too much, next thing you know he got stopped by the officer and he realize he is in the middle of nowhere, he has no idea how he got there and everything.

he was in jail for a night and he had to find some bond company to bail him out, he will be facing court and a hefty fine. However, he is glad that he didn’t kill anyone.

so, don’t drink and drive!!! we are all taking taxi tonight since none of us wants to be DD. :)

work is killing me

April 28th, 2010

i normally do not get stressed over work because i like what i do, although it is all about shuffling papers around. I work from 9 to 6, then go home and relax. i never had to take any work home at all.

but everything changed recently as one of my coworkers left. our manager looked around the office, and when he saw me, i knew something bad was about to happen, and sure did. He called me into his office and asked me for a favor! (can’t believe i actually softened my heart and agreed to help him for NOTHING!!) that’s right, i am doing two people’s work for the same amount of pay. the result is not too good. i am working from 9 to 9 and still take work home because i can’t finish them.

tomorrow i will be going straight to him office, and tell him there is no way i can keep this up. I am going to ask for a huge raise or ask him to find another person to help me before i collapse in front of his face. i can’t wait.

sidenote: i still haven’t found my house yet, i am still looking, and guess what, i am getting more and more discouraged as time goes by because i realize that the mortgage market is getting wayyyyyyyyy to strict!!!

buying a new home

April 18th, 2010

well, i am getting super excited these days….. becaaaaaaause i am looking into getting into a house of my own. i am freakin tired of renting and paying rent to the apartment asses. I am so ready to move out and move into something that has my name on it.i can’t control anything that’s going on around here as everything has to go through the damn leasing office. They will start some kind of construction anytime they want and i haven’t been able to sleep for a long long time now.

wow, did i sidetrack again. anyways, i talked to a few friends and found a few realtors, went to look at a few houses and boy, they are getting so cheappppp. (still out of my budget of course). after weeks of looking and comparing, i am still undecided! however, i did learn a few trick that might help you fellow house hunters.

1. use the realtor.com, don’t use an agent up front. why? the website is sooo convenient. check it out yourself.

2. never look at something you can’t afford, i wasted half of my time drooling over mansions and luxury condos that i know i can’t afford. but it was a pleasure though.

3. first home shouldn’t be a new house. yeah, i figure that out. i do not want a newly built house, why? because they are a lot more expensive than something like 10 years old. (at the same location)

gaga

March 11th, 2010

went all out today at the mall. I think i put a heavy heavy amount on my card today that i will regret for a good number of weeks. well, let’s see the list:

1. cosmetics, i have to have them, who doesn’t.

2. underwear, my favorite things to collect, and sometimes i don’t even know why honestly. i dont’ have a killer body, and currently i don’t have anyone to seduce, so what i am so into these little sexy pieces, i have no idea.

3. sunglasses, well, summer is coming in like 3 months, so might as well prepare

that’s it, but you must guess what killed me, that’s right, the cosmetics.

saw something interesting:

“It was recently revealed in the news that several women have made claims that wearing some Victoria Secret bras have caused a series of allergic reactions that have the women wanting to file a class action lawsuit against the world famous lingerie giant .

Victoria’s Secret is famous for splashy TV spots with gorgeous supermodels such as Heidi Klum, Giselle Bundchen and Tyra Banks.

One United States based Victoria Secret customer has made claims that she became permanently scarred after wearing the Angels Secret Embrace bra which costs approximately $60 depending on a variety of factors.”

have any of you have the same issue? i have never had any kind of allergic reactions to VS underwear. Something fishy is going on, maybe they need to remember to wash the underwear before wearing it for the first time.

drinking coffee?

December 3rd, 2009

i love coffee in the morning, who doesn’t!! well, today i saw something that’s good and bad.

first i saw this:

Want a drug that could lower your risk of diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and colon cancer? That could lift your mood and treat headaches? That could lower your risk of cavities?

If it sounds too good to be true, think again.

Coffee, the much maligned but undoubtedly beloved beverage, just made headlines for possibly cutting the risk of the latest disease epidemic, type 2 diabetes. And the real news seems to be that the more you drink, the better.”
wow, good news right? but then, i saw this:

“Caffeine, coffee’s main ingredient is a mild addictive stimulant. And coffee does have modest cardiovascular effects such as increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and occasional irregular heartbeat that should be considered. Studies have been largely inconclusive regarding coffee and its effect on women’s health issues such as breast health, cancer, and osteoporosis.”

well, guess what! i heard of the addiction and osteoporosis before, but here is what i think of it. If you find that one cup won’t do you any good anymore and you go for the second, and then you find out that second is not doing anything anymore and you go for the third. that’s when a good cup of coffee in the morning that does everything good for the health goes bad. got my point?

what a rainy day

November 17th, 2009

i decided to stay home and just chill and watch some TV all day today. I am normally an outdoor person, but not today. It started pouring cats and dogs early in the morning, for a second there i thought it was hailing. That’s how big each rain drop was. Out of all the years that i can remember, i don’t recall any day like today.

i normally dislike the rain because it prevents me from doing my favorite things outside. However, sometimes i love chilling inside and just stare at the rain, think about nothing. completely empty out my thoughts. It is extremely relaxing. trust me, sometimes you should give it a try.

watched couple movies btw. devil wears prada, ironman, slumdog millionaires. don’t get me wrong, i have seen all these movies already, just figure i watch them again since i have absolutely nothing to do. “millionaire” is one of my all time favorites. :)

bothered by the insurance people

October 13th, 2009

I think I got maybe 10 phone calls today from different insurance sellers. Housing insurance, mortgage insurance, health insurance, life insurance, car insurance, etc… My personal information must have been leaked somehow to attract these sellers like bees to the honey pot. First of all, I am not saying I hate cold-call insurance sellers, but when I am busy at work, and they are calling nonstop, and whenever they call, they won’t let me hang up. That’s what I am annoyed about.

I am pretty sure these companies are legit, and I am pretty sure mortgage insurance, health insurance, car insurance are important for people to protect themselves these days. But, when I already have them all, please don’t call me. do some research first, make sure I already have them before you call me. that’s all I am asking.

Well, since I am already on this topic, i would like to say state farm has been great, progressive has been great, blue cross/blue shield has been great!! If you need insurance, you can always stick with these big players. haha

sexy sexy

September 1st, 2009

saw something pretty cool recently, it is called the c-string. actually, i know they been around for a while now. but i just thought they are way too sexy. actually, too sexy for me to ever think about wearing them. however, i definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to hit the beach with guys drooling over them and have no tan lines after a day of bathing in the sun.

other than these two benefits, i really doubt the c-strings are comfortable at all. i would be worrying about them falling off any time if i am walking around, jumping around, or doing activities that will involve moving up and down. actually, now that i am thinking about it, DO NOT WEAR THEM to the beach. imaging a wave come and hit you hard, you come out of water realizing that you lost your c-string. wow, that would be hard to cover up!!
